Why does a 7-year-old need a website?

Whatever the sport, profession or activity, without the right inspiration, it is difficult to develop the perseverance needed to achieve outstanding results. From the very beginning, Áron watched a lot of hockey goal summaries, but the real motivation came from the YouTube channel of a sportsman of his age, Roman Marcotte. We’re launching this page in the hope that we can help motivate other sporting kids.

But that’s not the only reason we’re building Áron’s online channels. Unfortunately, Hungary is not the best-known hockey nation, so to have any chance of gaining international exposure, we need to be present in the online space. Elite Prospects could be a great tool to do this, but Hungarians under the age of 18 are not allowed to create a profile on the platform. That’s why we decided to create an official page for Áron, where the international hockey community can follow the development of a young talent! If you are interested in detailed documentation of Áron’s development, don’t hesitate to contact us!

I also run a digital marketing agency, so doing this project is more of a hobby. If you want to do something similar, feel free to contact me!

Multisport: Ice Hockey + Soccer
+ Inline

The biggest danger of too much training is premature burnout and injury, which can be effectively avoided by optimising the workload and incorporating varied movement patterns into the training plan. This is why Áron does not only play ice hockey: he is a certified football player for Budai FC and is also familiar with several supporting sports. Ice skating is, of course, more in focus over other sports, but it has also become more of a family pastime than a solitary commitment.

She started playing roller hockey after 9 months to support her shot pad and stick handling training, which helped a lot with her hand-foot coordination. Since then, he has been learning tricks in roller hockey, which he practices and perfects in 1v1.

Are you right-handed or
left-handed? Both!

Áron started playing with a left-handed stick, but after some research, it turned out that the left-handed stick is not set in stone. On the one hand, it requires constant practice with both hands to develop the nervous system, and on the oth er hand, fewer players play with the right-handed stick and statistically more goals are scored. After half a year of racket handling and shooting drills, we switched to switching rackets halfway through the training session so that if he is doing well later on, he can switch to a right-handed racket. From September onwards, he will also be using a different stick for ice training, so we’ll see how that goes.

Training log: 689/10000, is
there a lot or little
training?

We never intended Áron to be a top athlete, so we initially included little training in his schedule. But as soon as we realised how talented he was and how much he enjoyed the sport, we increased the amount of training to the level of training camps. Obviously, there is less time for training outside of school, but we make sure that he can train for an average of 2 hours a day. Luckily we have the opportunity to make a mini stickhandling and shooting bench room in the garage, which is a great help in regular practice. The equipment is a bit shabby, but at least it’s motivating! 🙂

Aron vs Adam = 1v1

Fortunately for Áron, Endre Varga couldn’t watch my misadventures on the rink during Áron’s first steps. As an experienced coach, he took control and put Áron’s hockey skills on a firm footing. Since then, Áron has made a lot of progress and has been practicing with Endre’s son Ádám Varga against 1-1, which you can see in separate videos on our YouTube channel.

As a father who was never a professional sportsman, let alone a professional hockey player, I spent hundreds of hours reading as much international hockey and sports literature as possible. This collection of useful links and exercises might help you too. If you have suggestions, feel free to send them in.
